Wings Like Eagles
Scripture
“But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
BSBDevotion
There's a kind of tired that a nap can't fix — the tired of trying to do everything under your own strength. Isaiah offers a different path: waiting on the Lord. This isn't passive sitting around; it's active trust, the posture of a runner catching their breath before the next stride. When you wait on God, He doesn't just help you survive the day, He renews you for it. Whether you're mounting up, running, or simply walking through a hard season, His strength meets you exactly where you are.
Prayer
Lord, I'm tired in ways rest alone can't fix. Teach me to wait on You — not to stall, but to trust. Renew my strength so I can run, and when I can't run, help me just keep walking without fainting.
Reflection Question
What would it look like this week to 'wait on the Lord' before pushing forward in your own strength?
Foundation
Before you move today, sit still for two minutes and pray. Then take a walk and notice how you feel afterward.
