Stewardship

Bought With a Price

Scripture

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Devotion

Fitness culture often makes the body about vanity. Scripture makes it about stewardship. Your body isn't a billboard for your image — it's a temple where God's Spirit actually dwells. That changes the 'why' behind every workout. You're not training to be worshipped; you're training because you're a caretaker of something sacred. Eating well, moving your body, and resting aren't vain pursuits — they're acts of honoring the One who bought you.

Prayer

Father, thank You for making my body a home for Your Spirit. Forgive me for the times I've neglected it or worshipped it instead of caring for it as an act of worship. Help me glorify You in how I train, eat, and rest today.

Reflection Question

Is your view of your body closer to vanity or to stewardship right now — and what would change if you saw it as a temple?

Foundation

Do one small act of care for your body today — extra water, a stretch, or an earlier bedtime — as an act of worship.
